The Montvale Free Public Library was founded in 1975 and is housed in the Montvale Borough Hall building at 12 Mercedes Drive. The mission of the Montvale Free Public Library is to provide modern library resources and services necessary to meet the evolving educational, recreational and informational needs of the public, thus enhancing individual and community life.
The Library also offers lectures, workshops, book discussions and other activities to the public, along with special programs for children and those with reading difficulties. Susan Ruttenber is Library Director, working full-time under the guidance of the Library Board of Trustees.
Montvale Library patrons may access materials from over 72 libraries belonging to the Bergen County Cooperative Library System.
