A new Mayor and three new Borough Council members were sworned in at the Mayor & Council reorganization meeting on 1/1/2008.

The new Mayor, Roger J. Fyfe, most recently served as councilman for two terms. He is an active volunteer, and has served as president of the Montvale Athletic League and Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 336. He is a longshoreman for a shipping firm in Port Elizabeth. He and his wife Gloria have lived in Montvale for 20 years. They have two sons, Roger Jr., 22, and Dan, 19.

Councilman Timothy E. Lane is an active volunteer at the Our Lady of Mercy church in Park Ridge and in both the Montvale baseball and soccer leagues. He is a financial services executive by occupation. He and wife Rosaleen, along with children Sam, 15, Owen, 11, Thomas, 5, and Mairin, 13, have lived in Montvale for 16 years.

Councilman Salvatore J. Talarico is a volunteer Boy Scout Troop Leader and has coached Montvale baseball and soccer teams. He is employed at BMW of North America, working as team leader for customer relations. He and his wife Cynthia have resided in Montvale for 20 years with their two sons, Philip, 22, and Joseph, 20.

Councilwoman Leah LaMonica has been appointed to fill Roger Fyfe's unexpired council term. She has served as member of both the Planning Board and the Environmental Commission, as chairperson in the Montvale PTO, as Fundraising Commissioner in the Montvale Athletic League, and has coached soccer, baseball, and softball teams. She is a partner in House Dressing, a homestaging business based in Ramsey. She and her husband Paul have lived in Montvale for 23 years, and have three children, Matthew, 22, Mark, 19, and Christina, 15.
